NFPA Glove Update & Delay

NFPA Glove Update & Delay

With NFPA 1970-2025 in effect, all currently pending structural glove orders have unfortunately been pushed to March, 2026 as select internal construction materials used for the glove are being adjusted to meet the updated standard to protective ensembles.

The delay in shipment is not due to a failure to meet NFPA standards. Instead, it is the result of industry-wide raw material sourcing challenges tied directly to the updated NFPA requirements. Certain compliant materials now have longer lead times which has temporarily slowed production across multiple manufacturers — not just us.

All Fire Duty Mitts currently in service are fully NFPA compliant and acceptable for use. Gloves manufactured and sold under NFPA 1971–2018 remain compliant for their full service life, which is up to 10 years from the date of manufacture, provided they are inspected and maintained in accordance with NFPA guidelines. There is no requirement to remove or replace gloves simply because a newer standard has been released.

Once compliant raw materials arrive and production is complete, orders will be fulfilled immediately. We remain committed to delivering fully certified, NFPA-compliant gear without cutting corners or compromising firefighter safety.

We appreciate the patience and continued trust of the fire service. If you are wearing Fire Duty Mitts today, you can do so confidently knowing they are NFPA compliant, approved for use, and built to perform.
